William Holland – The Verdigris Bateau Bath
There is no escaping the long loved appeal of verdigris which has an ongoing draw with its luminescence and vibrant aqua tones.
‘Of all the colours, blue and green have the greatest emotional range.’ – William H Gass
Used by masters from Vermeer to Botticelli the blue-green shades were created through years of natural organic process but with modern processes and innovation, the fragile beauty of verdigris has been harnessed with The Verdigris Bateau Bath from William Holland.
This can be seen in the Lyme Regis project by Interior Designers Ryder & Hope (images) where the rustic look of weathered copper has been used to create a bathroom focal point. The verdigris provides a look of decades of aging without the wait as William Holland have used modern technology to accelerate the natural oxidisation process.
