The Barceló Hotel Group opens its first Lisbon Hotel

Occidental Lisboa

Portugal has been one of the Barceló Hotel Group’s top destinations in 2018. Following the June grand opening of its first hotel in the country, Allegro Madeira (124 rooms), the chain is now welcoming guests to its first establishment in the Portuguese capital: Occidental Lisboa. This charming four-star hotel with 105 rooms was built in 2015 in the heart of the city, only five minutes walking from the famous Praça do Marquês de Pombal and the elegant Avenida da Liberdade.

According to the Barceló Hotel Group’s Business Development Managing Director, Jaime Buxó, “We are pleased to continue our Portugal expansion with this lovely hotel under lease in the centre of Lisbon. With Allegro Madeira and Occidental Lisboa, we have been able to address the needs of Portuguese hotel owners who want to work with a manager like the Barceló Hotel Group that knows how to showcase their hotels, maintain their personality, optimise their long-term profitability and pamper their clientele. We will continue to expand our Portuguese operations in the upcoming years thanks to new alliances with local partners and our varied brand architecture that enables us to establish more than one hotel in the same destination”.

Occidental Lisboa, an excellent alternative for (re)discovering the Portuguese capital:

Just like other European cities, Lisbon is banking on its famous rooftop bars, and the one at Occidental Lisboa, housed on a sixth floor overlooking the river and the city, is one of the hotel’s most attractive spots. Occidental Lisboa will also owe its success to the delicious food served at its à la carte restaurant that combines local specialities with international cuisine, in addition to its spacious and comfortable rooms. Additionally, the hotel will have a gym, a meeting room for up to 75 people and a car park.

Additional information and reservation enquiries can be found on the Barcelo website
