Radisson Hotel Group and Bülow AG sign deal for Porsche Design Tower Stuttgart

Radisson Hotel Group is pleased to announce the signing with Bülow AG for a new Radisson Blu hotel at the Porsche Design Tower Stuttgart, Germany. The Radisson Blu Hotel at Porsche Design Tower Stuttgart represents an exciting collaboration with developer Bülow AG. The design of the Porsche Design Tower Stuttgart was developed in close collaboration with Studio F. A. Porsche, Zell am See. With its excellent location in the heart of Europe, the south German metropole is a perfect fit for Radisson Blu, Europe’s leading hotel brand in the upper upscale segment. Sottini Appoints UK Retail Specialists to Strengthen Showroom Offering

Following a sustained period of growth, Sottini – the Italian-inspired bathroom brand known for its elegantly crafted luxury products – has bolstered its retail team with two new Regional Sales Managers. The new appointments are both renowned UK bathroom industry specialists with a combined 50 years’ worth of experience. Together, they will spearhead the development and further growth of Sottini across the UK’s bathroom retail market. Matt Bell joins the company as Retail Sales Manager for the North of the UK. He brings with him a wealth of industry knowledge, contacts and expertise following more than two decades working with leading bathroom brands and retail businesses. Maison&Objet Looks to the United States for Its Next Rising Talents

MAISON&OBJET, the international trade fair for design, decoration and lifestyle, held every September and January in Paris, will shine a spotlight on the United States by honouring up-and-coming American designers with its Rising Talent Awards. An exhibition of products by this group will be a highlight of the next edition of the fair, which is scheduled for Sept. 6-10, 2019. Introduced in 1995, the Rising Talent Awards celebrate emerging designers from different parts of the world, who are selected by a local jury of renowned industry leaders. The most recent program, in January, honoured six Chinese designers representing a new generation of creative excellence. The work of the honourees was prominently displayed at MAISON&OBJET in the exhibition centre at Paris Nord Villepinte, and the young designers were feted at a celebration attended by design luminaries, dignitaries and the international press. Previous editions of the fair have focused on Rising Talents from the United Kingdom, Italy and Lebanon. Laufen congratulates 2018 AIA UK Student Charrette winner: University of Westminster

The prestigious AIA UK Student Charette returned for its eighth consecutive year and once again the one-day student design competition was hosted by the Roca London Gallery and supported by Swiss bathroom specialist Laufen. The UK Chapter of the AIA (The American Institute of Architects) revealed that the winner of this year’s challenge is the University of Westminster, for their highly commended project; ‘Squares of Light’. Opened in October 2011, the Roca London Gallery was designed by Zaha Hadid Architects. The space demonstrates a shared passion for innovation and is designed to create a unique and visual experience which proved to be the ideal setting to host the young creative talent in this year’s competition. The event took place on Saturday the 27th of October and was open to all architecture and interior design degree students across the country. Students representing many of the UK’s leading universities, worked collaboratively in teams of 6-8 to respond to the brief. SBID and BE OPEN announce Designed for Business competition category finalists

The Society for British & International Design (SBID) and its partner BE OPEN Think Tank announce the finalists for Designed for Business, its new national competition aimed at final year creative students and graduates across Interior Design, Interior Decoration, Product Design, Fashion and Art & Design. SBID created the competition in a bid to showcase emerging talent in each industry, to promote equal opportunities and to nurture relationships between students and the working world. SBID and BE OPEN were delighted with the enthusiastic response to the competition from both students and creative course leaders at leading universities. Members of the esteemed judging panel remarked that they were impressed by the quality, innovation, social conscience and focus on sustainability present throughout the entries. The awards presentation will take place at the House of Commons on Thursday 29th November, where category winners will be awarded with £1,000.
