Success is on the menu for innovative, eco-friendly disposable plate firm The Good Plate Company

The war on single-use plastics has found a new ally – The Good Plate Company. Especially when it comes to tackling the colossal amount of rubbish generated by takeaway food outlets, events and festivals. According to WRAP – the national waste reduction charity – the hospitality sector produces two million tonnes of waste every year. The Good Plate Company has found a way to manufacture 100% organic, compostable tableware, including eco-friendly disposable plates, bowls and cutlery. The firm’s ambitious plans to roll out its product line has been given a boost through receiving a start up loan and mentoring from Virgin Start Up and the government Start Up Loans fund This ethical, sustainable tableware is the brainchild of friends Hersh Thaker and Raghav Chandegra. Gres, Huma and Nautica of Expormim at the permanent exhibition of the Barcelona Design Museum

Product design, cultural heritage, of the Barcelona Design Museum. Expormim has expressed its gratitude for the recognition that the Barcelona Design Museum has made when selecting its products and for the validity of the craftsmanship techniques that it maintains. Morgan unveils vibrant art installation in London showroom

This week, Morgan, contract furniture designer and manufacturer, welcomed artists, interior designers, visionaries and other creative minds to a special viewing of a new art installation by David Shillinglaw at their Clerkenwell showroom. Attended by more than one hundred guests, the evening’s high energy was fitting for the exuberant composition. Celebrating the spirit of collaboration and imagination, Morgan has been sharing its showroom with artists since opening in 2014, transforming the interior’s blank walls into thought provoking galleries and colourful canvasses. Entitled ‘Alive in the Human Hive’, the new installation is a dynamic, large scale mural alongside a selection of David’s recent artworks. David brings his energetic imagery to the Clerkenwell showroom for a second time, ever growing his relationship with Morgan. Since graduating from Central Saint Martins 17 years ago, he has been commissioned by Converse, The Dulwich Picture House and agnès b. Beyond the UK, he has exhibited in galleries from Japan and China to The Gambia and Turkey.
